Collection: Bifrenaria

Bifrenaria originate for the coastal mountains of Brazil, attached to vertical rocky cliffs, exposed to strong winds and full sun.  Roots attach into the rock crevices, with only low levels of nutrients.   Require high levels of light, moderate temperature and medium - high humidity of 75-80%.  a two month winter rest period, meaning reduced watering and fertiliser.  A drop in temperature of 5-10 degrees is required to trigger the plant to set buds for the Spring.  Bifrenaria dont like to be disturbed, repot only when very necessary to avoid the plant from 'sulking'

Easy to grow.  Makes an impressive specimen plant.
